What is my family structure like?

I’m a single mom, so my family is small- just me and my two kids. I’m lucky to be surrounded by great friends who feel like family, too.

What does family mean to me?

Family is community. It’s the people who show up for you, day after day, offering support when times are tough, and celebrating with you when life is good. It’s a commitment to the people you love, regardless of their blood relation, to always be there showing love for one another.

My Favorite HAPPILY EVER AFTER DIVORCE ® Story

My childhood friend is one of the bubbliest, lively, and optimistic people I have ever known. On her wedding day, she was filled with bliss and excitement for what the future with her new husband would hold. She was full of hopes and dreams for their life together, and we all celebrated her anticipated joyful future.

Over the next few years, we all watched as the life seemed to have drained from her. Each time we met, I could tell she was worn down. Thing weren’t going the way she had hoped. Dreams had been crushed, promises broken, and the plans they made seem to have been put on hold. Right before their 5th wedding anniversary , she broke the news to me- she had filed for divorce.

Fast forward to 1.5 years since the divorce has been finalized, and she is more radiant than ever. She’s started a new career, renewed her relationship with the friends she lost touch with during the rough years before her divorce, and she is absolutely thriving more than ever.
