Atlanta Divorce Law Group is excited to announce our new family law service: Mediated Settlement Conferences.

What is a Mediated Settlement Conference? It is a meeting during which both parties and an Atlanta Divorce Law Group attorney sit down together in a conference room and discuss every detail of the divorce settlement. The attorney acts as a mediator (not in the capacity of an attorney), guiding the parties to work towards a complete settlement agreement. The attorney/mediator will lead the discussion by addressing each of the terms covered in a settlement agreement and helping the parties come up with potential solutions. Atlanta Divorce Law Group currently offers four-hour or eight-hour sessions. When the parties leave our office, they will have a fully executed Settlement Agreement, as well as all of the instructions they need to file and finalize their divorce.

Who might benefit from this service? Those who may benefit from a mediated settlement conference includes anyone interested in a flat fee uncontested divorce, someone who has already agreed to all of the terms of their divorce, or someone who would like our law firm to review their divorce settlement agreement.

Why would a client choose a mediated settlement conference over a more traditional route? This process is relatively quick and cost effective, compared to full litigation. Clients retain control over the mediation process and the outcome. Further, once an agreement is reached, the clients can leave our office with the peace of mind knowing that an experienced attorney wrote their settlement agreement.

When can clients schedule a mediated settlement conference? Ideally, the conference would be scheduled prior to the parties filing for divorce. However, if they have already filed, and the court has not ordered mediation, Atlanta Divorce Law Group can schedule a conference.

If you are interested in learning more about our Mediated Settlement Conferences, or would like to schedule a session, contact Atlanta Divorce Law Group at (678) 798-8078 or via our website.
